Location and Working Environment
This position follows our hybrid working model. The role requires a blend of home and minimum 2 - 3 days per week in our Leiden office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.

Purpose & Scope
As a Lead, Intellectual Property Operations Management, you are an active and contributing member of the Intellectual Property (IP) Functional Unit, responsible for driving peak operational performance by providing timely, strategic, and high quality support. Your primary purpose in this role is to lead and support key IP asset management initiatives and projects, with only limited supervision
Role and Responsibilities
• Manage the patent docketing database by ensuring accurate and timely data entry in coordination with attorneys, outside counsel, and the database vendor.
• Support in house patent prosecution, including supervising EP (European Patent) validation and PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) national phase entry.
• Assist responsible attorneys with office action responses and related prosecution tasks.
• Prepare reports and maintain the asset responsibility list.
• Oversee annuity payment processes and track cost saving initiatives across the patent portfolio.
Required Qualifications
• Experienced in patent docketing and related software.
• Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented, self motivated, and effective at motivating others.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Committed to integrity, professionalism, and high quality results.
• Skilled at identifying issues, recommending solutions, and managing projects through to completion.
• Advanced degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
• European Patent Administration Certificate or Certified Formality Officer or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
