Position Summary
The Country Controller for Netherlands leads local accounting & finance operations and interactions with all related stakeholders. He /she is the main point of contact for all statutory & finance administration activities for the commercial legal entit y in scope . He/She oversees accounting, tax and OTC (Order To Cash) for commercial operations in Netherlands , supporting the Finance Director in Financial stewardship & Financial controls.
Moreover, the Country Controller Netherlands is responsible for monitor ing overall market reporting and defin ing continuous improvement actions.
Scope of the role
The Country Controller Benelux is a strong functional lead ensuring timely & accurate reporting of entities in scope for the Benelux and act as a business partner for all local statutory, Tax and OTC activities . In more details , key activities include (but are not exhausted to) :
Business Partnering:

Be the primary contact with the businesses for all Finance activities of the market e nsuring accuracy and integrity of financial statements.

Develop strong relationships with Commercial, R&D and Financial staffs at all levels, with Global Finance staffs ( in particular Corporate Tax, Corporate Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, Corporate Treasury)

Closely collaborate with the Business Control Functions to ensure the effectiveness of the Internal Controls, assist with the annual risk assessment and ensure compliance with the SOX policies established by the group.

Be readily available to be part of broader teams of the Group to effectively manage transformations or changes dictated by the Global Strategy.

Collaborate with the VAP team by providing Finance insight for the successful filling of medicines in the local Health Authorities, and the successful launch of new medicines/indications in the market.
Functional Lead:
-
Oversee the activities of the remote Centers of Excellence, such as the Statutory CoE, Tax CoE, R2R Hyderabad team, 3rd party services provider.

Assess impact of business decisions on Legal Entity results and cash flow.

Create Legal Entity budgets and forecasts and lead discussions with Corporate Tax and Corporate Treasury on tax, funding and profitability issues.

Oversees accounting close process and key controls (Balance sheet reconciliation, flow analysis, …)

Liaise with tax and treasury department on financial flows and governance of holding structure.

Oversees, organize and control intercompany operations and transfer pricing.

Manage the interim/annual audit process, by designing the audit plan, create effective ways of communication with the external auditors & ensure the timely audit sign-off (in the deadlines agreed with the Global Statutory team).

Manage the Internal audits by leading the process & collaborate effectively with the Internal auditors.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field

Minimum of 7 years relevant experience,
-
Team management experience/skills (approx. 5 years) is highly appreciated.
That experience should include managing and developing a team, and of working cross-functionally.

Strong technical accounting background, local accounting and US GAAP, local statutory accounting, tax reporting and local market reporting.

Good understanding of tax income tax as well as VAT and local tax matters.

Good understanding of administrative processes and internal controls.

Strong change management skills, with a can-do attitude & agility to successfully drive the local organization through changed/transformations.

Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal & external partners and to energize people working around him/her.

Ability to negotiate and influence others including external partners to achieve the best financial results for the organization.

Thorough knowledge of SAP & Hyperion and keen to always learn new systems/platforms & adapt the AI to meet the challenges of the accounting professional in the future.

Proactive approach, able to work on own initiative and without close supervision.

Systematic, methodical approach with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
