Research Analyst protein engineering and expression

Your Role
As a research analyst for protein and cell engineering, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the generation of novel recombinant proteins for research projects. You will be working on the design and construction of vectors to facilitate the expression of these proteins in both transient and stable expression systems. Your tasks will be hands-on in our development laboratories. Your work will be guided on a daily basis by the scientist overseeing protein and cell line engineering. As part of a team, you will plan, execute, and report your own activities in close collaboration with your colleagues. You will join a stimulating group of technicians and scientists in a very collaborative environment. As part of this group, your personal as well as your scientific growth are encouraged and developed.

What do you need to succeed in this role?
Ownership of activities with a mindset on precision and quality of your own and your colleague's work. A natural team player with an attitude to collaborate and communicate as well as being flexible to act in a fast changing and demanding environment. You are practical-oriented, flexible and result-oriented and use proactivity and creativity as your methodology to find solutions.

Your profile and skills/capabilities

  • A BSc or MSc degree in the field of life sciences, ideally in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture or closely related subject
  • Depending on degree, at least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in an environment that provided a broad experience of molecular biology
  • Expertise in mammalian protein expression
  • A desire to see your experiments through in the laboratory execution
  • Experience in genome editing and NGS tools is an advantage
  • A team-mindset with adequate verbal and written communication skills in English
  • An open-mind, flexible and pragmatic approach
