Scope of the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Regional Operations Planning Consultant to join our dynamic team and support the Technical Operations planning for cell therapy decentralized manufacturing network within the EU region. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in production scheduling and capacity planning, coordinating activities across manufacturing, quality control, site management, supply chain, and technical support. This position requires a blend of strategic planning, logistical expertise, and strong communication skills to ensure seamless operations across multiple sites and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain regional production scheduling to meet demand forecasts and production goals for the Galapagos cell therapy processes in the EU decentralized manufacturing network.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, production capacity or prioritization between clinical manufacturing, tech transfers and maintenance.
  • Conduct capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization of resources across the region. Analyze production data to forecast future capacity needs and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on regional operations performance to senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategies for capacity expansion and resource optimization.
  • Collaborate with supply chain for the EU region, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and shipment of material kits to the manufacturing sites.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Support team to address operational challenges and implement technical solutions. Ensure technical support is effectively integrated into production scheduling and capacity planning.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate demand planning with supply chain and clinical operations.


Job requirements

Who are you?


  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, capacity planning, or supply chain management, preferably in the biopharmaceutical or cell therapy industry.
  • Strong understanding of decentralized manufacturing processes and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment..
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in operations planning software and tools (e.g., ERP, MRP systems).
