Principal Research Associate, Protein Analytics & Labeling Lead

The Role

You will be part of the Antibody Research Materials department. A close connection of four teams that together focus on fueling Genmab’s discovery pipeline by supplying the base elements for the projects: the research materials. Our challenge is to deliver these at predictable and fast timelines and high user-friendliness .

This vacancy is part of the Protein Supply & Analytics team and specifically we are looking for a manager for the Protein Analysis & Labeling team . This team is responsible for protein labeling and the biochemical characterization of Genmab’s therapeutic antibody batches. We constantly seek to improve existing techniques and to implement new analytical techniques.

With your scientific knowledge and expertise , you will contribute to multidisciplinary project teams to help develop state-of-the-art antibody therapeutics .

Responsibilities

As a manager within the Protein Analysis & Labeling team you will:

  • Lead and motivate the Research Associates in your team who perform experiments for biochemical characterization of proteins and protein conjugation activities.

  • Apply your up-to-date knowledge about proteins and biochemical techniques for protein and antibody characterization to review data obtained by your team .

  • Be responsible for team deliverables, quality criteria of protein and manage ment of resources and materials.

  • Contribute to reviewing and writing of Standard Operating Procedures within area of expertise .

  • Proactively d rive and contribute to process improvement projects running within the team and department.

  • Contribute to digital system projects, automation and data handling.

  • Document scientific results in presentations, reports and relevant meetings.

Requirements

You are a team leader with expertise in protein/antibody chemistry, chromat ography , and analytical characterization . You are driven to lead your team towards achieving critical goals for Genmab’s therapeutic antibody projects. Your proactive approach, hands-on mentality, c ontinuous improvement, and results-driven nature inspire and energize your team

Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:

  • You hold a MSc degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Biotechnology focused on protein characterization with at least 5 years of relevant work experience , or you hold a PhD in one of these disciplines .

  • You have team management experience, focusing on the personal and professional development of your direct reports.

  • You have broad knowledge and experience with the most common protein purification and bioanalytical techniques , such a s HPLC/UPLC, electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, CE-SDS, native), and endotoxin testing .

  • You are skilled in reviewing analytical data and maintain high-quality standard with attention to detail.

  • You excel at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • You are motivated by delivering high quality output and are used to working according to a quality system.

  • You are process - minded and enjoy optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and possess strong problem-solving skills.

  • You have an interest in data science, automation, and data handling.

  • You are a self-critical thinker with an eye for detail.

  • You have excellent communication skills, and you are proactive .

  • You are a strong team player and collaborate effectively with colleagues within the team and in project and expert teams.

  • You have professional business level English language skills, both written and verbal .
