Research Associate, Biochemical Analysis

Utrecht, Netherlands

At Genmab, we’re committed to building extra[not]ordinary futures together, by developing antibody products and pioneering, knock-your-socks-off therapies that change the lives of patients and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. From our people who are caring, candid, and impact-driven to our business, which is innovative and rooted in science, we believe that being proudly unique, determined to be our best, and authentic is essential to fulfilling our purpose.

Role

We are looking for a new Research Associate, Biochemical Analysis! As part of the Protein Production and Characterization cluster, you will be a member of the Biochemical Analysis group within the Chemistry Manufacturing Control (CMC) department. In this lab-based role, you will support early and late development stages of Genmab’s antibody pipeline, directly contributing to Genmab’s core mission to develop new antibody therapeutics and improve the lives of cancer patients!

This position combines laboratory work with data analysis, data interpretation and documentation, and equipment implementation. You will be responsible for setting up and performing characterization studies, such as forced degradation. Given that we are constantly looking for ways to optimize our processes, your input will help develop and implement new methods and techniques.

Are you looking to develop a variety of analytical skills, and to grow in your expertise? Genmab might have your dream job as Research Associate, Biochemical Analysis!

Responsibilities

  • You will perform experiments using a wide range of modern biochemical techniques in several simultaneous projects (e.g., CE-SDS, HPLC/UPLC, icIEF, etc.)
  • You work closely with scientists and other Research Associates in multiple project teams; no week will look the same!
  • You collect, document, report, and present the results in a multisite environment (e.g., Copenhagen CMC team).
  • Most of the work is performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and therefore requires a high degree of accuracy.
  • You contribute to the optimization and innovation of our team.
  • You execute biochemical analysis to support the development of drug candidates from preclinical development to clinical development.

Requirements

You are keen and motivated to use your up-to-date knowledge in protein biochemistry and experience with biochemical techniques to strengthen our team. You are precise and accurate in the execution of experiments and the documentation of the results. You have good communication skills, a service-oriented attitude and can deal with changing priorities and unexpected workloads. In addition, you meet the following professional requirements:

  • You have a completed HLO, MSc or equivalent in biochemistry or molecular biology or other relevant fields. Candidates with a PhD are deemed overqualified, and their applications will not be considered.
  • Relevant work/internship experience in protein analysis and preferably with antibodies is an advantage.
  • You have knowledge of and experience with the most commonly used biochemical analysis techniques.
  • The group routinely uses Absorbance Spectroscopy, Capillary Electrophoresis (CE-SDS and cIEF), Analytical Chromatography (HPLC), Bio-Layer Interferometry and MFI. We also perform Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF). Experience in these techniques is an advantage.
  • An interest in software and data handling is an advantage.
  • You can run several projects in parallel and adjusting priorities appropriately.
  • You are motivated by delivering high-quality output and are used to working according to a quality system.
  • You have good relational and communication skills in English, as this is the main language in Genmab.

  • You bring rigor and excellence to all that you do. You are a fierce believer in our rooted-in-science approach to problem-solving
  • You are a generous collaborator who can work in teams with diverse backgrounds
  • You are determined to do and be your best and take pride in enabling the best work of others on the team
  • You are not afraid to grapple with the unknown and be innovative
  • You have experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic company (or a strong desire to)
  • You work hard and are not afraid to have a little fun while you do so
