The Role
As our new Senior Research Associate, y ou will be part of the In-house Protein Supply team, and specifically within the Protein Production & Analytics team at Genmab, Utrecht. This team is responsible for the production, purification and biochemical characterization of Genmab’s therapeutic antibody batches .
This is a temporary lab-based position for one year (covering a leave of absence) in which you would be able to learn new skills, and get some real-life experience within a n international biotech company!
Responsibilities
- Perform transient protein production, purification, and biochemical analysis of diverse antibody formats for early-stage research projects.
- Collaborate closely with scientists and research associates across different expertise teams.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with precision to ensure consistent and high-quality results.
- Document and analyze experimental data in Genmab’s electronic Lab Information Management System (LIMS).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement projects within the team.
Requirements
- You have a completed HBO, BSc, or MSc degree or equivalent in biotechnology, biochemistry, life sciences or related field of study. Candidates holding a PhD will not be considered.
- You have knowledge of a nd experience with either transient production of proteins in mammalian cells or protein purification strategies.
- You have knowledge of and/or experience with some of the main bioanalytical techniques to characterize proteins, such as absorbance spectroscopy (Nanodrop), Bio Layer Interferometry (Octet), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE-SDS) and Analytical Chromatography (HPLC/UPLC).
- Familiarity with automated purification systems such as AKTA FPLC and Unicorn software is a plus .
- You have an interest and affinity for practical work in the laboratory, with hands-on experience working with biomolecules .
- You have good organizational and communication skills and are able to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines and deal with changing priorities.
- You are motivated by delivering high quality output and are used to working according to a quality system.
- You have an interest in software, automation and data handling.
- You have professional business level English language skills, both written and verbal.
General information
- This is a fulltime lab-based position consisting of approximately 2-3 days in the lab and the remaining days performing data-analysis, reviewing and documentation.
