Genmab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive full stack implementation of the data platform and marketplace. This role will require a diverse set of technical skills including front-end, database, datalake, API development, and middleware.

A key focus will be on implementing data catalog and marketplace components to enable data discoverability, accessibility, and consumption.  Databricks and its data management services: Unity Catalog as a metastore and Delta Lake as the storage layer, sit at the center of the platform and its expected this role will be able to leverage the Databricks ecosystem to populate marketplace needs. This role will benefit from a deep understanding of modern data marketplaces and how to implement different aspects of it.

This role offers the opportunity to shape Genmab’s enterprise-wide data platform strategy, influencing how data is governed and consumed across all business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data catalog and marketplace solutions combining Databricks, Django, Postgres, and Python.
  • Implement UI components that enable users to interact with the platform along a governed data flow.
  • Understand different user personas and delivery bespoke data and user experiences that cater to their needs.
  • Design and implement an API that offers a similar data experience through a programming interface
  • Leverage Unity Catalog as a metastore, Delta Lake, and the medallion architecture to establish scalable and well-governed data solutions.
  • Exercise and define best practices, architectural frameworks, and standards for modern cloud-based data platforms and catalogs in a regulated environment.
  • Engage with data producers, consumers, stewards, and data engineers to tailor solutions that fit their needs.
  • Identify reusable solution patterns that reduce technical debt and maintenance overhead
  • Ensure GxP compliance, regulatory adherence, and best practices in data security for all data workflows.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
  • Familiarity and ability to deliver components of a data marketplace in a hands-on format, which includes components of full-stack development.
  • Understanding of AI and analytics and how data needs to be leveraged to facilitate model development
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience developing scalable data pipelines and cloud-based (Databricks) architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of GxP and regulatory compliance in biotech/pharma data platforms.
  • Experience designing and implementing data mesh architectures and data marketplaces.
  • Proven ability to work with data governance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise metadata management, lineage tracking, and access control.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Biotech or pharma experience is preferred, with an understanding of how data flows across R&D (e.g., translational research, bioinformatics), CMC (e.g., batch records, stability data), and Commercial (e.g., omnichannel engagement, sales ops) contexts in biotech/pharma.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with technical leadership.
  • Exposure to modern data lakehouse architectures leveraging Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and Unity Catalog is a plus.
