Job Description:

The Business Excellence Manager will work with the Site Manager, Synthetics Value Stream Leader, and Biosurgery Business Excellence & Digital Leader to develop and execute continuous improvement strategies for operational excellence. This role oversees site performance management and cost improvement initiatives. The manager collaborates in creating and executing site and business excellence strategies for the Biosurgery business in partnership with other sites and functions.

Responsibilities:

• Leads Business Excellence activities for the Nijmegen site, applying Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Responsible for deploying JJOS on site.
• Partner with the site leadership team to develop and implement the site strategy, providing support to the Site Manager and leadership team throughout the strategic business cycles.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of Operational Excellence projects aimed at continuous improvement and cost reduction, aligned with the overall site strategy. Prioritize and resource projects according to the roadmap.
• Implements performance management routines and incorporates the use of advanced digital solutions and data analytics tools to collect, analyze, and interpret data, supporting strategic decision-making and enhancing agility.
• Serves as the Site Value Stream Subject Matter Expert, managing the material and information flow for all products manufactured on-site and overseeing current and future state value stream maps.
• Supports the Synthetics Value Stream team with business excellence activities, including performance management, while identifying opportunities to enhance performance.
• Creates and maintains site and value stream scorecards and supports reporting at the platform level.
• Prepares and provides updates, communications, presentations, analyses, and reports to senior leaders, communicating business-related issues, strategies, and opportunities.
• Provides coaching across different levels of the organization and implements training programs to develop business excellence capabilities within the site.
• Lead digital and AI adoption initiatives to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and enhance employee experience.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment is required.
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment (i.e. FDA, ISO, etc.) is required.
• Knowledge of Process Excellence/Six Sigma/Lean tools and methodologies is required. Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Familiarity with data and digital technologies such as IoT, data analytics, and automation.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to use and learn new platforms such as PowerBI, Qlik, and MES is required.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Ability to successfully apply and display mastery in Business Excellence methodology – Metrics, Six Sigma & Lean.
• Capable of making effective management level presentations, writing formal reports dealing with both technical and business implications, and preparing project plans while identifying and understanding the interrelationships of related fields and key activities.
• Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others in a complex, cross-functional organization is required
• Experience managing uncertainty to create and execute a strategy is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace digital as a way of working to drive efficiencies, effectiveness and experience outcomes.
