Logistics Associate

Overall purpose of job:

The Logistics Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless and efficient flow of materials, products, and information within the organization. This position involves managing the logistics and supply chain processes to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency. The primary goal is to support the timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

o   Supply Chain Management:

·        Oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, transportation, and distribution.

·        Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

·        Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.

o   Logistics Coordination:

·        Coordinate transportation activities, including route planning, shipping, and delivery schedules.

·        Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues or delays promptly.

·        Work closely with carriers and logistics providers to negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective solutions.

o   Inventory Control:

·        Develop and implement inventory management strategies to improve accuracy and reduce carrying costs.

·        Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.

·        Analyze demand forecasts and adjust inventory levels accordingly.

o   Process Improvement:

·        Identify opportunities for process improvements within the logistics and supply chain functions.

·        Implement best practices to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

·        Continuously assess and update logistics procedures to meet changing business needs.

o   Cross-Functional Collaboration:

·        Collaborate with other departments such as production, sales, and customer service to ensure a coordinated approach to logistics.

·        Address and resolve logistics-related issues that may impact overall business operations.

·        Provide support to other teams in understanding and optimizing logistics processes.

Required Qualification and Core Competencies for the role:

o   Education:

·        Lower secondary education level (ISCED 2) in a Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

o   Experience:

·        Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

·        Familiarity with logistics software and systems.

o   Problem Solving;

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o   Communication Skills:

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o   Adaptability:

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
