Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize our foundational transactional processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform for growth and efficiency gains.

This program will simplify the Pharmaceutical ERP landscape from 7 to 1, standardizing processes to have a cost-effective, fit-for-purpose digital backbone that will enable us to support the Pharmaceutical business with agility. We are searching for the best talent for a Transcend: Senior Manager, Global Template Manager (GTM) Innovative Medicines (IM) Trade Controls (1 of 2)! This hybrid position will be located in Titusville, New Jersey. Alternate hybrid locations may be considered at other Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) hubs such as Raritan, New Jersey; Horsham, Pennsylvania; Markham or Toronto, Canada; Beerse, Belgium; Latina, Italy; Cork, Ireland; Leiden, Netherlands; Zug or Schaffhausen, Switzerland; or São Paulo, Brazil.

As members of the IM Transcend Team and the Value Chain Management (VCM) organization, the Senior Managers will enable integration across the IM & J&J functions to develop solutions that support end to end (E2E) organization and requirements while maintaining the integrity and reliability of ERP template. They will lead the integration of the trade controls design within the overall E2E business process design and integration, as well as strive to enable and standardize core business capabilities, products, and functional integration points to meet critical business process needs across the functional areas. The Senior Managers will partner across both the IM and J&J key stakeholder groups to gain a deep understanding of as-is and future business needs/capabilities, bench-marking, continuous improvement, consistent process documentation, and product deployment through the various programs. They will apply a refined, multi-functional tool-set of business expertise, technical knowledge, and digital acumen to effectively interact with a breadth of business stakeholders and global process owners. They will also engage and operate with program teams at an execution level, as well as with senior leadership at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across Trade, Supply Chain, Compliance, and IT to gather detailed business requirements.

  • Lead workshops, interviews, and validation sessions to understand current trade processes and identify gaps.

  • Analyze and prioritize business needs, ensuring they align with overall corporate objectives and global trade policies.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable and adaptable system templates tailored to support multiple regions.

  • Define system architecture and configuration specifications that ensure compliance with international trade regulations.

  • Develop standardized templates and workflows that streamline trade operations, documentation, and reporting processes.

  • Coordinate with Compliance and Legal teams to incorporate regulatory requirements and updates into the system template.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, workflows, and best practices, and facilitate communication channels among regional teams to gather feedback and ensure consistency.

  • Lead the end-to-end deployment process, including system configuration, testing, user acceptance, and go-live activities.

  • Provide insights and support for all training and compliance documentation and set process for ongoing updates.

  • Manage and develop change management activities, including stakeholder training, documentation, and support during transition, including establishing governance frameworks for system updates.

  • Develop implementation roadmaps, timelines, and escalation plans to ensure timely execution.

  • Oversee the development of test scripts and conduct system testing to ensure alignment with business requirements, including facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT), gathering feedback, and addressing issues prior to rollout.

  • Monitor system performance, user feedback, and regulatory changes to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency, compliance, and user experience.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.

  • Bring expertise in Trade Controls, driving connection between Automated, Self Service and Assisted platforms part of Transcend Strategy and designed blueprint.

  • Regularly communicate to Deliver Leadership team and Trade Control, Transportation, Global Trade Compliance Organization on project updates, process changes, business issues and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of High School or equivalent diploma/degree is required; Bachelor’s / University or equivalent degree strongly preferred

  • Certifications are helpful in one or more of the following: PMP, FPX, or equivalent project management; APICS; and/or Lean/Six Sigma /Process Excellence

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience

  • Trade controls experience (e.g., process and systems, sanctions, embargos, sanctions/party lists, or other related areas)

  • Experience with business process design, engineering, or optimization

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, with demonstrated ability to influence/collaborate to get to desired result, including engaging and building relationships with senior business stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills, and business savvy with strong appreciation for standard methodologies and governance

  • People management (direct or indirect reports, regional or remote) and ability to collaborate in a highly matrixed environment

Preferred:

  • Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, or other regulated industry experience

  • Proven experience with large-scale SAP ERP replacement project(s)

  • Experience effectively leading and governing multi-functional decision-making bodies

  • Experience in deploying standardized work processes, tools, and templates

OTHER:

  • Requires proficiency in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively and professionally

  • May require up to 50% domestic and international travel depending on work location and business needs

  • Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option for two remote workdays each week
