The Warehouse Operator performs the daily operational core tasks and supporting, routine activities, including all related administration and documentation, within the Warehouse or Distribution Center. These activities are carried out in compliance with cGMP, EHSS, and company guidelines related to the receipt, handling, sampling, weigh & dispense, shipment, and storage of goods in the Warehouse and/or Distribution Center. The operator has an active, hands-on role in the continuous improvement of work processes.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
The core responsibility is the execution of logistics activities, including:
- Physical handling and labeling of materials in accordance with procedures
- Receiving of goods
- Sampling of goods
- Weighing and dispensing of raw materials
- Storage of goods
- Order picking
- Handling of equipment-related goods
- Managing internal and external shipments (commercial and non-commercial)
- Managing internal transport
- Managing external transport
- Inventory management (cycle counting)
- Waste handling
- Distribution of orders/goods within production areas in accordance with ISL
Supporting and Routine Activities
In addition, the position holder is responsible for supporting and routine departmental activities, such as:
- Maintaining documentation and computer systems
- “Basic asset care”: ensuring cleanliness (5S), maintenance, and organization of areas and equipment
- Knowledge transfer
- Use of existing Lean systems (visual management, etc.)
- Distribution of orders/goods within production areas in accordance with ISL
cGMP, EHSS, Lean, and Process Excellence
All activities are performed under strict cGMP conditions. The operator ensures a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment. Task execution, work organization, and the continuous improvement of efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and compliance with cGMP and EHSS are supported by Lean techniques and concepts.
The operator has sound knowledge of cGMP, EHSS, and Lean at a level appropriate to the role, is trained in internal procedures, and always follows these as well as other internal standards. The operator identifies shortcomings and opportunities for improvement, implements practical improvement initiatives that do not require support from other departments, and participates as part of a team in larger or more complex initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum education : Relevant MBO (vocational) diploma
- Minimum experience : 2–4 years of work experience
- Dutch speaking, reading, and writing proficiency; English reading proficiency
- Forklift / reach truck certification
- Dangerous Goods training
- Proficient in working with computers and software
- Quality-oriented : Works precisely and accurately; closely follows instructions and standards; knows when to seek assistance from others
- Collaboration and communication : Shows respect, listens to others, contributes ideas, and is aware of personal behavior and its impact on others; acts in the interest of the team and department
- Learning and improvement : Open to feedback, learns from mistakes, and takes initiative to improve own work
