Utilities Engineer - Hybrid

Location: VISP

The role:

As a Utilities Engineer at Lonza , you will be responsible for the flawless operation, maintenance, and control of systems such as Clean Steam, Purified Water, Water for Injection, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC), whil st adhering to GMP requirements. Additionally, you will manage access control, waste management, and the acoustic and fire alarm systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, supervision, and organization of the continuous monitoring of the purified media systems.

  • Addressing deviations in collaboration with QA, QC, and operations. Defining appropriate measures and preparing monthly reports.

  • Coordinating interfaces with operations, engineering, QA, and QC.

  • Representing processes and procedures of purified media systems during audits and inspections.

  • Coordinating membrane changes and visual inspection of relevant systems, investigating deviations, and defining and implementing measures with QA, QC, and operations.

  • Managing all media in the black area, waste management, and proper disposal of liquid and solid waste.

  • Daily monitoring of fault reports and order creation, as well as actively participating in problem-solving.

Key requirements

  • Advanced training from a technical school (HF) or a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or process engineering.

  • Experience in change management.

  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of utilities and GMP requirements.

  • Good IT skills, especially in Office, SAP, and DeltaV (process control system).

  • Clear communication with internal interfaces (support, operations, QA, QC, and engineering).
