IT Security Analyst

We are on the lookout for a dedicated IT Security Analyst who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our security systems.
The Team
You will be working in an international cross-functional team and help further build a strong IT security function within Merus. Our IT Security and Compliance department consists of highly qualified and engaging professionals, mainly focused on cyber security, risk and compliance. The successful candidate will be based in Utrecht, The Netherlands (Hybrid) and report to the Head of IT Security and Compliance.
You will be working in an international cross-functional team and help further build a strong IT security function within Merus. Our IT Security and Compliance department consists of highly qualified and engaging professionals, mainly focused on cyber security, risk and compliance. The successful candidate will be based in Utrecht, The Netherlands (Hybrid) and report to the Head of IT Security and Compliance.
The Role
The IT Security Analyst will have key role in security related activities such as identifying vulnerabilities, assessing impact and proposing options to mitigate risks. Furthermore, you will work with colleagues on maintaining and updating the Information Security Management System. Your role is crucial in protecting our company’s data and you will work closely with colleagues from the IT department and an outsourced Security Operations Center (SOC).
Expect to fill your working day with:
- Monitor computer networks and devices for security issues and risks and operate security software;
- Document, investigate and assess cyber security incidents;
- Research security enhancements and make recommendations;
- Create and advise Information Security related policies, guidelines, protocols and change requests (RFC);
- Work on creating and improving Information Security awareness for employees with training software and development of instructions and guidelines;
- Work with your colleagues on security improvement activities and projects;
- Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards;
- Advise colleagues about Information Security topics.
Your Profile:
The successful IT Security Analyst will have ability to analyze complex information, establish and maintain strong long-term relationships, communications and interact professionally with a diverse group of Managers and Subject Matter Experts in both IT and business unit groups.
This is then backed-up by the following:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in a relevant field;
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cybersecurity fundamentals, network structures, operating systems, cyber threats and attack vectors;
- Proficiency in scripting languages, like PowerShell to automate tasks;
- Preferable experience with Confluence and ISO27001;
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English.
