For our COSI (Cost of Sales and Inventory) Human Health team in Haarlem we're hiring an: Associate Director Finance

Our Finance team leverages sophisticated financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting, and performance evaluation techniques to propel medical innovation and enhance human’s lives. As part of this role, you'll lead a team of finance professionals and review, report, and analyze inventory, production, and product cost data. You will oversee the accounting close and management cycles for multiple markets and branches in the world.

Next to these core activities you will also drive the annual budget cycle of the company where you will be working with your stakeholders in determining manufacturing cost and inventory valuation based on our supply chains. As part of a global team there is plenty of opportunity to be involved in company wide projects.

Purpose of the role

As Associate Director Finance you will be responsible together with your peers for Supporting facilities with management reporting, performing global product cost analysis and for analytical analysis on operating results and ensuring correct mark-up elimination is performed. You will help drive the month end close process to deliver on time high quality financial numbers with supporting commentary and seek for continuous improvements . Ensuring consolidated closing is performed according to policies and procedures so appropriate internal and external reporting can be performed . Providing feedback to senior management on financial operational results and strong interaction with finance leaders across multiple divisions . S upporting internal/external Audits is also part of the role.

Main responsibilities
Your main tasks will be leading one of our Human Health team’s and lead, but not limited to:

  • Manage, coach and develop a team of finance professionals
  • Management reporting and product cost analysis
  • Oversee the annual budget cycle for product costing in accordance to US GAAP
  • Oversee the control and analysis of monthly production results and variances
  • Identify and lead cost control and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Lead with a strong focus on compliance, ensure compliance with SOX, guide internal- and external audits
  • Business partner with the Finance leadership teams and provide accurate financial data
  • Participate in divisional- and company wide projects
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to monitor and safeguard our contribution to the company’s strategic priorities.

Your profile

  • Master's degree in finance/business/administration/economics.
  • 8+ years of relevant (Manufacturing) Finance working experience.
  • Experienced in analytical roles/cost accounting and production analysis using SAP
  • Experienced in preparing accounts in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Strong improvement mindset.
  • Experienced with managing, coaching and developing a diverse team.
  • Able to build a bridge and interact with highly diverse stakeholders across the world.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Able to challenge decisions with reasoned financial justification.
  • Able to see the wider picture and how decisions could affect the site, division and company.
  • Able to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
