About the position

Reporting to the Director, Entity Controller for the Netherlands, you will be responsible for all aspects of the financial accounting and reporting for our commercial, manufacturing, and IP ownership entity as well as several of our holding entities in the Netherlands.

You will ensure management and statutory reports are maintained in line with USGAAP and NLGAAP, by applying appropriate accounting policies and procedures. You will oversee the timely & correct delivery of these reports, which require strong cooperation with several teams within our global company. You will ensure an effective financial control environment by understanding, monitoring, and executing local control procedures so that all defined key controls are properly executed and documented. You will support global projects and will lead financial efforts on a local level. There will be close cooperation with other Associate Directors in our Global Controller Group and you will be part of the Finance Leadership Team in the Netherlands.


Primary responsibilities

As Associate Director in our team, you will have a crucial role within the company, providing the opportunity to establish valuable partnerships with stakeholders. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage an accounting & controlling team of four people and provide them support in their development and well-being.
  • Build and develop network and partnerships with finance leads of the manufacturing and commercial operations for our Haarlem and Oss sites.
  • Responsible for accurate financial reporting of our Haarlem operating company, USGAAP and DUTCH GAAP based. Similar responsibilities for several of our Holding entities, operating out of the Netherlands.
  • Maintain a strong entity control environment (Sox404) for financial, operational, and external business relationships, which require due diligence on legal contract reviews.
  • Assess the financial impacts of complex areas on the entity, including transfer pricing, innovation box facility, changes in the financial supply chain, and business deals.
  • Coordinate, discuss, and resolve observations from internal and external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance cost efficiency and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate and partner with the finance leads of our Business Service Centers, inventory costing group, indirect tax team, and global tax team.

Your profile

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Auditing or Finance and at least 10 years of experience in Accounting or Auditing.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Demonstrates understanding of national and regional accounting laws, regulations, and standards and applies them appropriately to ensure the financial integrity of the business and financial statements.
  • Adheres to the highest standards of ethical behavior in all interactions and hold others to the same standards; identify and address ethical issues without hesitation.
  • Committed to travel within the country.
  • Stakeholder-focused, resilient, and reliable person.
  • Builds trust and credibility by delivering results and following through on commitments.
  • Experience with Analytic Data and Prescriptive analytics is a preference.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, influencing, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
