R&D Lab Equipment Coordinator

Welcome to our team
With around 200 employees our Biological Research team discovers and develops innovative vaccines and biopharmaceuticals for a wide variety of animals for the global market. The Operation and Facility (O&F) team is vital to facilitate R&D progress. You will be part of this O&F, where we embrace a positive mindset that is focused on getting things done as a team.

This team consists of around 30 colleagues who are committed every day to ensure that the R&D department can do its best work in an efficient, compliant, and safe manner. Our equipment team consist of 4 Lab Equipment Coordinator and 1 Asset Specialist.

About the position
As a Lab equipment coordinator, you will ensure that the R&D department at our Animal Health site in Boxmeer adheres to our company standards and protocols. Your role is vital in maintaining the performance, reliability, and compliance of our laboratory equipment, as you collaborate closely with various teams across the organization. Our team manages the lifecycle of approximately 1800 pieces of equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the effective management of laboratory equipment throughout its lifecycle in R&D by maintaining, writing, and reviewing general procedures.
• Facilitate and oversee all stages of R&D lab equipment management, including purchasing, validation, periodic reviews, and retirement.
• Share responsibility for keeping all laboratory equipment used in R&D in a validated state.
• Act as the primary contact for inquiries regarding lab equipment in close collaborating with our Asset Specialists within R&D.
• Partner with R&D key users to assist them in following equipment lifecycle procedures.
• Serve as the R&D Key User for the SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP-PM) system.
• Work closely with various departments and stakeholders to optimize the lifecycle processes for R&D lab equipment.
• Provide support to our O&F GLP team as needed.

Your profile

• HBO / bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemistry).
• A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment.
• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, maintenance practices, and quality assurance standards.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic approach and openness to change.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Strong analytical capabilities, enabling you to maintain an overview and set priorities when required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Dutch and English.
• Currently living within a reasonable commuting distance of Boxmeer. Relocation support is not offered.
