We’re looking for a driven and collaborative Technology Transfer Lead to join our Packaging Technical Operations team in Haarlem. Technical Operations at the Haarlem site is responsible for technology transfer of new products into the site , component support , and execution of c ap ital p rojects to install or upgrade packaging line capabilities aligned with new product needs.

Purpose of the position

As the Technology Transfer Lead, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our site is technically ready for new product introductions and technology transfers. Your role will involve managing all aspects of transferring both new and existing products and processes, with a strong emphasis on delivering results on time and maintaining clear visibility into device assembly and packaging operations. You will work hand-in-hand with Development and Commercialization teams to shape and implement our technology transfer strategy, acting as the key point of contact for all related activities. In this position, you will also develop and manage an integrated project plan, ensuring that we are fully prepared for product introductions and technology transfers, while effectively communicating any technical risks and progress updates to your colleagues and stakeholders. Your leadership and collaboration will be vital in driving our success in this critical area.

Main responsibilities

  • Leverage subject matter expertise in packaging and combination products, including process, device assembly, packaging, equipment, and components, to rigorously assess site readiness through proactive risk evaluations of technical and execution risks.

  • Identify risks across functional areas and interfaces, developing robust mitigation strategies.

  • Operate effectively in ambiguous situations, supporting scenario planning and options analysis to facilitate risk-based decision-making.

  • Utilize demonstrated technical breadth in end-to-end assembly and packaging operations to lead a technical team focused on achieving rigorous outcomes, including process qualification and validation, component qualification, and specifications.

  • Collaborate with the site team to develop and set strategies for tech transfer and new product introduction.

  • Schedule and facilitate technical reviews related to technology transfer.

  • Be accountable for conducting After Action Reviews and sharing knowledge with other technology transfer teams.

  • Ensure compliance with company global and regulatory requirements, executing current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in all daily activities and job functions.

  • Work collaboratively to foster a safe and compliant culture.

  • Build strong cross-divisional partnerships with site leaders, functional management, and stakeholders from Research & Development, Commercialization, Technical Operations, Operations, Quality, Analytical Regulatory-CMC, and Supply Chain.

Your profile

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field, with 5–7+ years of experience in device assembly and/or packaging, and project leadership.

  • T echnical expertise in packaging technologies (vials, syringes, autoinjectors, etc.) and facility/equipment readiness.

  • Has expertise in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food (medical), or chemical industries.

  • Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects .

  • Strong understanding of cGMP, regulatory requirements, and change control processes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A proactive, flexible mindset with a passion for solving problems and driving results.
