The Position
The overarching goal of compliance operations is to enable a culture of ethics and compliance across the enterprise by supporting compliance with legal, regulatory and policy requirements, remaining abreast of emerging trends and evolving our compliance operations.
The Associate Director, Global Compliance Operations will report to Director, Compliance Operations and be a key member of the Global Compliance Operations team. This experienced professional will provide compliance operations expertise and guidance to various stakeholders and business teams to facilitate compliance with laws, regulatory requirement and internal policies and procedures. This experienced professional will lead cross-functional projects Pulse tool and Compliance Monitoring Program.
Primary Responsibilities:
A. Support Pulse program
- Enhanced data analytics skills; abilities to navigate through big data; connect the dots from different data sets; build data visualizations for easy identification of patterns, trends, outliers in a large data set; abilities to interpret the results; drive meaningful conclusions; provide valuable recommendations to the business leaders across functions with the aim to protect the company and its effective compliance monitoring program. (Power BI, etc.)
- Strong healthcare compliance knowledge – understanding the risks, elaborating the impact of identified patterns, trends, outliers; abilities to recommend valuable enhancements and support timely remediation.
- Partner with business leaders across the local markets and process owners; BT organization
B. Compliance Monitoring Program – coordinate cross-functionally the execution of the program
- Support the integration of Pulse into an Effective Compliance Monitoring Program
- Promoting a corporate culture that fosters ethical and compliant behavior and providing the basis to ensure adequate internal controls and compliance with all laws and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrating sound judgment, decision making, business acumen, and ability to set clear strategies with successful implementation.
- Being innovative, results oriented, and decisive when faced with complex issues.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Master’s or comparable degree in relevant field, preferably in law, risk management or corporate compliance
- Compliance Certifications (Licensed Professional in Ethics) are preferred.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- 5+ years of significant data analytics global experience and exposure, consulting business, relevant global compliance experience
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech industries preferred, but not required.
- Deep understanding of global compliance laws and regulations, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), US Anti-Kickback Statute and US Federal and State transparency reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance operations, systems, tools, and processes, including third party due diligence; denied party screening; sampling and transparency reporting.
- Chinese language
- Experience in developing and implementing systems and processes to drive compliance and simplify compliance operations.
- Thinking outside of the box mindset and self-starting attitude.
- Ability to adapt to an evolving business and compliance landscape.
- Strong ability to influence across functional groups and business franchises to gain cooperation and alignment on operational issues and objectives.
- Clear, effective communication style and interpersonal skills.
- Effective listening, judgment, problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ethical mindset and integrity; ability exercise sound judgment and to demonstrate courage and candor.
