What will you do?
As the SHE Officer , you will be pivotal in defining, implementing, and maintaining SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements. Collaborating with various departments, you will create a safe and sustainable working environment for all employees and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement SHE policies, standards, and procedures in collaboration with operational management.

  • Create and oversee the annual SHE plan.

  • Support operational management in maintaining compliance with legal and internal requirements.

  • Coordinate risk assessments and oversee safety programs (biosafety, chemical hygiene, waste management, and lab safety).

  • Conduct SHE audits, evaluate incidents, and implement corrective measures.

  • Deliver SHE training for employees and coordinate annual fire drills.

  • Stay updated on SHE legislation and ensure company compliance.

  • Act as a liaison with SHE agencies, emergency services, and other relevant stakeholders.

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • Education : Secondary Vocational Education Level 4 (MBO 4) or equivalent experience (candidates with extensive relevant experience but different educational backgrounds may also be considered).

  • Experience : Knowledge and skills associated with several years in a relevant SHE role, ideally in a clinical trials lab or related setting. Experience in a regulated industry is key.

  • Knowledge : Safety regulations, hazard analysis, emergency procedures, hazardous materials, risk analysis and management, technical knowledge.

  • Skills : Strong communication, collaboration, independence, and proactivity. Able to assess processes and propose / lead needed process improvement projects. Demonstrated internal audit/assessment skills.

  • Language : Fluency in English is required for all application materials and daily tasks. Excellent communications skills needed in general, with the ability to speak effectively with all levels of the organization (approachable and easy to talk to). Excellent writing skills also needed for SOPs, training and other related written materials.

We offer a varied role within a dynamic and international organization. We provide a full-time position of 32-40 hours per week for at least one year (after one year, there may be an opportunity for extension).  Further, you will w ork in a cutting-edge bioanalytical facility, collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals in a supportive work environment, to contribute to meaningful SHE initiatives that protect people and the environment.
