
Senior Payroll Specialist

The opportunity
The main purpose of the Senior Payroll Specialist role is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of monthly and annual payroll, time and attendance tasks, and all benefits-related administration. This role serves as the primary point of contact for most employee questions and requests .
We invite applications for the role of Senior Payroll Specialist. This is a full-time or part-time position, with options to work 40 or 32 hours per week.
How you’ll spend your day
Under supervision and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations, CLA, and internal policies, procedures, and guidelines, this position is responsible for the following tasks:
- Accurate and Timely Data Collection: Collect payroll input data from HR and other departments.
- Review and Monitoring: Conduct close review and monitoring of records for payroll changes in a highly collaborative environment.
- Answering Questions: Respond to payroll questions from employees and managers concerning payroll mutations.
- Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
- Benefit Plan Mutations: Process benefit plan mutations accurately and timely (e.g., Pension fund, Benify, UWV, etc.).
- Employer Statements: Create employer statements.
- Interface with Providers: Act as the key interface between outsourced payroll providers (ADP & Mazars) and internal employees, and maintain regular interaction with all external official bodies.
- HR Operations: Manage end-to-end HR operations, including Time & Attendance (time-Wize & Employee Central) and Payroll Systems (ADP).
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform other ad-hoc jobs and actions applicable to the payroll function.
Your experience and qualifications
- Experience: Ideally 7+ years of relevant and comparable payroll and benefits experience in the Netherlands.
- Education: Associates PDL degree in payroll or equivalent work experience.
- ADP Experience: Experience working with ADP is a plus.
- Project Experience: Experience working on projects.
- Accounting Skills: Basic accounting skills.
- Pension System Knowledge: Familiarity with the Dutch pension system.
- Service Orientation: Service-oriented and flexible attitude.
- Communication Skills: Good social and communication skills, both verbally and in writing (English and Dutch).
- Independence: Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
- Attention to Detail: Structured, timely, and accurate with a focus on details.
- Confidentiality: Discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in dealing with salary and other employee data, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Microsoft Office: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
