At our site, we develop, build, test, and support advanced Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). Electron Microscopes are crucial in academic and industrial research, allowing researchers to explore molecular and material structures down to the scale of atoms – comparable to recognize a butterfly from the moon.

Position Summary: The Communications and Event Specialist will primarily engage with Eindhoven colleagues. You will help Thermo Fisher engage employees by developing digital signage and intranet content, site-wide newsletters, and town hall events. You will also organize site-wide activities such as the yearly Open House and Belonging Week. In this role, you will report to the Eindhoven Communications Manager.

What You Will Do

• Own the development and execution of site-wide communications, like digital screens, site-wide newsletters, and the intranet.
• Own the execution of site-wide events, such as our yearly Open House and Belonging Week.
• Build, implement, and measure the success of communications that drive engagement among employees.
• Build connections with site colleagues from different departments, backgrounds, and personalities and representatives from site initiatives such as our activity team and the charity committee
• Maintain a robust editorial calendar for our Eindhoven site events and communications.
• Become our subject-matter expert on internal channels and platforms (intranet, PowerPoint, Viva Engage, digital signage, Poppulo, etc.).
• Over time, you may assist with external communications activities.
  

Requirements

• Preferred: Educational background in Communication.
• We welcome candidates from vocational (MBO) education to university levels: your experience and personality matter most to us.
• Communications and organization experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch: using creative visuals to get your message across, clearly communicating complex concepts into interesting, simple stories, and using your interpersonal skills to foster our engaging environment is what you instinctively do.
• A creative and energetic individual who loves collaborating with a variety of people. You are able to consider individual and department needs, even when opinions differ, while taking own initiative and being able to get things done positively.
• Highly organized and enjoys running projects and events, supported by a strong attention to detail.
