DESCRIPTION:
The Global Senior Inventory Manager is responsible for defining, deploying and governing the inventory management strategy across the MSD division in order to secure customers service level while achieving an integral inventory targets. In this role you will connect global supply chain strategy with site execution across multiple manufacturing global locations, ensuring inventory is managed in a structured, data-driven and financially aligned way.
You will own the standardization of inventory processes, reporting and governance across the division, while driving change through close collaboration with site Supply Chain teams, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Planning, Order Fulfillment, Logistics, Product Marketing and corporate stakeholders. A key purpose of the role is to improve inventory performance, reduce E&O and above-entitlement inventory, support working capital targets, and build sustainable inventory management capability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Define and deploy the global inventory management strategy for the MSD division.

Lead standardization of inventory processes, KPIs, reporting and governance across all MSD manufacturing sites.

Own divisional inventory performance management, including Net Inventory, DOS, Above Entitlement Inventory, E&O, raw material, WIP, finished goods, service and commercial inventory.

Represent MSD inventory performance externally towards corporate and divisional leadership through regular reporting, reviews and business updates.

Drive inventory entitlement governance using SPARK and ensure sites understand and act on above-entitlement inventory drivers.

Lead the deployment of Inventory Daily Management Boards focused on root causes, corrective actions and return-to-entitlement timelines.

Partner with Finance on inventory targets, AOP, forecasts, DOS assumptions, mitigation tracking and productivity alignment.

Coordinate bottom-up inventory forecasting across sites, including inventory split, COGS assumptions, mitigation actions and DOS outlook.

Challenge site inventory plans and support translation of S&OP outcomes, demand changes and revenue scenarios into inventory impact.

Drive E&O mitigation activities, including rework, reuse, resale and collaboration with Product Marketing on monetization opportunities.

Support harmonization of replenishment and planning strategies, including ABC classification, MOQ, order frequency, safety stock, safety time and MRP attribute governance.

Identify and lead cross-functional inventory improvement initiatives.

Build capability and alignment across site Inventory Control Leads through dotted-line leadership, coaching, governance and best-practice sharing.

Support development of future inventory and materials management capabilities, including control tower concepts, AI-enabled insights, Supply Base Transfer and expansion into new regions.
Requirements

Strong experience in supply chain, operations or inventory management, preferably in a high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to lead inventory strategy across multiple sites and functions.

Strong understanding of inventory drivers, entitlement models, S&OP, MRP, planning parameters and working capital management.

Experience with inventory forecasting, AOP planning, DOS reporting and financial performance management.

Ability to translate complex operational and financial data into clear leadership messages.

Experience leading change in a matrix organization without direct authority.

Strong stakeholder management across site, divisional and corporate levels.

Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and drive accountability.

Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with large data sets, dashboards and business reviews and applying AI/ ML.

Leadership experience with matrix teams

Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in preferred fields of Study in Supply Chain and Operations Management
