Job Description
We are looking for a Manager, Technology Partnerships. This is due to a growing portfolio of collaborations supporting our strong business growth. Our scope and responsibilities are worldwide and encompass collaborations and public private partnership subsidy projects for all our relevant businesses and R&D organizations.
Our mission includes: ensuring engagement in a healthy portfolio of PPP subsidy projects contributing to R&D activities along with providing outside-in insights to improve roadmaps; gaining long-range insights into innovation strategy and policies at regional (e.g. EU) and national levels and turning them into meaningful action; and drive a robust and efficient approach to setting up and running bilateral collaborations.
We are deeply engaged with colleagues in our Semiconductor, Materials Science, Lifesciences and Software business segments along with Advanced Technology, R&D and Operations, from executive level to collaboration project managers .
How will you make an impact [Role]:
You will take a leading role building and running the pipeline of MSD collaborations. You will do this working together with colleagues globally, including our major locations in The Netherlands, France, Czech Republic and USA. Good alignment is key with internal & external partners across business segments and innovation departments.
Understanding the various PPP initiatives and underlying public roadmaps, identifying upcoming calls and interacting with potential partners will be important for success. In scope PPP initiatives include e.g. Horizon Europe, CHIPS JU or IHI JU, EUREKA or Dutch specific programs.

How will you get there [Main Responsibilities]
- Identifying and/or assisting new collaborations
- Scouting and initiating possibilities for new subsidy projects, e.g. by attending brokerage events
- Coordinating the engagement of Thermo Fisher in subsidy projects, sometimes as WP or task leader, including internal alignment, role definition, contribution to drafting proposals, timely report writing and presentation of results in (external) consortium and review meetings
- Ensuring robust internal decision making and efficient creation and execution of collaborations using relevant processes
Education and Qualifications
- Master Degree or PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, or equivalent
Experience
- Consistent success in relevant functions or roles.
- Practiced in management of innovative projects, collaborations or subsidy projects, or similar
- Experience of Business Development and working with legal and IP departments on contracting is a plus
- Familiarity with electron microscopy is welcome

- Proficient verbal, presentation and written skills in English, with Dutch being helpful
