DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Senior Dev/Ops Engineer III to maintain and optimize our technology infrastructure. You will work with advanced systems and contribute to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This position offers opportunities to work with systems that support Thermo Fisher customers, implement innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement across our infrastructure.

In this role, you will function as a working supervisor, performing hands-on technical work while providing leadership to team members. You will design, implement, and maintain critical infrastructure systems, develop automation solutions, and ensure high availability of services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions while maintaining security and compliance standards. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic thinking and leadership skills to support our organization's digital transformation initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure management and operations
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Experience as a working supervisor with demonstrated leadership and coaching skills
• Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, NetApp, VMware) preferred
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware)
• Expertise in Windows and/or Linux server administration and configuration
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting)
• Experience with storage systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning
• Understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and IT service management
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with monitoring tools and performance optimization
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to participate in rotation coverage as needed
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code
• Strong documentation and process improvement skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience in regulated environments (GxP, SOX) preferred
