Job Description
The Position
As Senior Dynamics Engineer, you will join the Mechatronics, Thermal & Dynamics Engineering team within Platform R&D, the Research and Development organization developing new modules and technologies for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM).
You are responsible for the dynamical aspects of high-tech electron-microscope modules and systems. Your solutions enable stable images with pico-meter resolution by dealing efficiently with the acoustics and vibrations from the environment. You are the key point-of-contact for all topics related to dynamics and will define the roadmap for the Dynamics competence.
You will find solutions for technologically sophisticated problems, meeting the needs of all relevant parties, combining short-term goals with long-term needs. The position will allow you to grow both in technical and business skills!
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will have the following key responsibilities:
- Generate dynamical designs meeting the extreme dynamic performance requirements for reaching the ultimate performance of our TEM's with respect to resolution and image quality
- Build models of modules and systems that can accurately predict the dynamic performance
- Set dynamic requirements across all TEM's developments
- Investigate and optimize dynamic performance on systems using troubleshooting and modeling techniques
- Design, analyze and test mechanical (sub)systems on dynamic performance
- Collaborate with a team of engineers covering multiple competences (mechanical, electrical, software, dynamics)
- Primary contact of all dynamics related activities within TEM Solutions
Qualifications
A successful candidate possesses the following combination of education and experience:
- University Master, PhD Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical/dynamical engineering.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in developing mechatronic (sub-)systems in the high-tech or equivalent industry sector focusing on dynamic performance
- Experience in applied mechanics, FEM and material constitutive behavior.
- Experience with software tools such as Matlab, UX and ANSYS.
You would characterize yourself as follows:
- You demonstrate a proactive approach, showcasing your ability to take initiative, be self-steering, and exhibit self-confidence.
- You are eager to learn and flexible when circumstances change.
- You combine a strong analytical view with a pragmatic demeanor.
