Location/Division Specific Information

In Eindhoven, we work with more than 1200 colleagues to develop, market and produce the world's most advanced Transmission Electron Microscopes.

Discover Impactful Work:

Join our global Advanced Technology team and contribute to the development of our next generation Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEMs). Drive novel electron optical concepts based on solid scientific research, demonstrate technology feasibility, and support R&D in product development. Be part of our mission to enable groundbreaking research for our customers.

A day in the Life:

  • Based on literature research you propose an electron optics design and work together with fellow scientists and engineers to develop and validate prototypes.
  • You work with (academic) partners on joint development projects and participate in conferences to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the field.
  • Protect the IP of the company by drafting patent applications.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Requires a PhD degree in physics or other related engineering field with 2+ years working experience or MSc degree with 5+ years working experience.

Experience

  • Previous experience on developing (TEM) electron optics and operating a TEM is an advantage.
  • Worked in a multi-disciplinary high-tech development team.
  • Experience in conducting experiments to validate designs.
  • Track-record on developing advanced (analytical) instruments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong analytical; mathematics;physics and programming skills (Python/C++).
  • Experience with field/optics simulation software (e.g. Opera3D / EOD).
  • Ability to translate electron optical concepts into designs that are manufacturable.
  • Great team member with good natural interpersonal communications and leadership skills is required due to the high degree of interaction and teamwork.
  • Fluent in English.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

You will be based in our Eindhoven office and have the ability to travel internationally up to 10%.
