About the Role: For the Established Pharmaceuticals division, we are looking for a Senior Planner to support our EPD Supply Chain Planning department in Zwolle.

The EPD Supply Chain Planning Organization’s ambition is to deliver reliable Service towards it’s (internal) customers & stakeholders and is recognized for its skills to provide sustainable Supply solution on a 0–2-year horizon (and beyond). In this job, knowledge is key and helps the division to make quick decisions and find the optimal balance between cost and the customer needs without jeopardizing Compliance and Quality of the product & processes. In the mix of people, processes, and systems, it is critical to develop a strong communication network that ensures transparency between affiliates, regions and global functions for all supply chain issues. You will work in an international environment and truly act Globally.

Withing the larger EPD Supply Chain team with 170+ professionals, we have a EPD Supply Chain Planning team consisting of ~ 25 people in different stages of their careers, located at 2 different locations: Basel (CH) and Zwolle (NL). As a Senior Planner EPD Supply Chain , you will be reporting to the EPD SC Planning Manager.

We seek a proactive and autonomous Supply Chain professional with strong expertise in demand and supply planning. The ideal candidate can work independently while managing commercial forecast changes, coordinating NPIs, and ensuring supply assurance through robust replenishment and inventory strategies. All in line with business strategies, financial plans, capacity constraint and/or contractual commitments.

Strong analytical skills, the ability to anticipate risks and develop mitigation scenarios are essential. This role requires excellent cross-functional communication, (external) stakeholder management, and an intrapreneurial mindset. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience are required for this Senior position.

The current open position is for a critical role in our EPD SC Planning team and has a strong focus on Launch excellence given the nature of the portfolio. Ensuring flawless (long term) Planning for new product introductions with (future) Biosimilar Partners, incl. the establishment, onboarding and alignment on critical Abbott processes with these partners (i.e. SC D&OP, Demand reviews, NPI launch execution, Long Range Plan, Capacity reservation). Aside from the required portfolio independency, there a need to work closely with other Commercial, Operations and Supply Chain people to successfully launch new products.

Main responsibilities

Considering Demand, Supply and Inventory management for the assigned portfolio of suppliers and products

  • Full support on Supply Assurance for the assigned portfolio of Top EPD Brand(s)
  • Awareness and action to positively influence Key exposure KPI’s for SC (i.e. BO’s, CS, Inventory)
  • Develop, Analyze and Action a Long Range Plan & Capacity assessment for the assigned portfolio, incl. stakeholder alignment, presenting outcomes, define and drive mitigation actions
  • Responsible to understand and appropriately support demand changes from commercial forecast, using all available tools (Planning system) and resources (your network and processes) available
  • Accountable for providing monthly forecasts to assigned suppliers, in line with contractual commitments
  • Planning responsible for coordination of New Product Introductions and Label changes
  • Proactively avoid product backorders and develop action plans upon their occurrence, while providing business impact and mitigation scenarios
  • Provide (internal) customers with pro-active information about changes in supply and/or shipments plans. Coordinate action plans to align demand and supply
  • Ensure close collaboration & communication with suppliers, to achieve alignment on supply chain topics such as new product launches, shortages, inventories, capacity related, or constraints
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal EPD stakeholders, (third party) manufacturing sites and regional counterparts
  • Frequently update inventory and volume projections (Last Best Estimates)
  • Manage any slow or non-moving inventory to avoid obsolescence, proactively define mitigations
  • Create and maintain Master data in SAP (i.e. MOQ’s, Safety Stocks, Leadtimes, Product data) to assure optimal replenishment plans and logistical execution
  • Assure compliance with local and Abbott quality, financial, and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures
  • Represent Supply Chain in BRM, D&OP, Workstream and other cross-functional meetings
  • Act as back-up for the Planning Manager in (Regional) S&OP’s or other forums when required

Requirements:

Qualification

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Supply Chain management, Operations Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or equal by experience
  • 5+ years of (related) Supply Chain experience
  • Strong communication skills (English, written and oral)

Good to have

  • Good foundation in Basics of Supply Chain management, i.e. ASCM CSCP certification
  • Good understanding of S&OP (input, approach, stakeholders)
  • Good understanding of MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and other planning/business systems
