Your role at AbbVie

The Value Added Service (VAS) Planner is part of the Global Supply Planning team located in Zwolle and is responsible for coordination of VAS activities between Planning, Central and Regional distribution centers (DC), Global Distribution and Logistics, Quality Assurance (QA), Packaging Engineering and Affiliates. We have a hybrid working model (60% onsite).

In this role, you will work closely with QA and the DCs to plan and coordinate VAS activities. The objective is to meet market demand on a routine basis as well as in exceptional cases. Therefore, the Value Added Service Planner needs to ensure set up activities have been completed by DCs and Supply Chain stakeholders, as well as execution is aligned to plan and processes are continuously improved. By continuously raising the bar, the VAS Planner ensures success for AbbVie and patients. To achieve this, the VAS Planner builds strong relationships with Distribution Centers, Affiliates, and internal supply chain partners.

Responsibilities

•    Coordinate set up and execution of Value Added Service (VAS) activities for AbbVie Pharmaceutical and Aesthetics (semi-)finished products between Quality Assurance, Finance, Affiliates, Planning, Global Label Management, and Distribution Centers.

•    Ensure that VAS execution is aligned with plan and ensure that short notice activities are efficiently performed within cost and compliance guidelines.

•    Maintain accurate data in SAP and enable enhanced system utilization.

•    Coordinate with appropriate Supply Chain and AbbVie functional partners (e.g. Quality, Finance) to set VAS policies for the distribution centers in the Netherlands, US, Singapore and Panama.

•    Establish best practices by driving benchmarking/sharing best practices across the various sites.

•    Drive sustainable margin and process improvements by offering innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities, address challenges and reduce operating cost.

•    Monitor and provide feedback on distribution center performance, incl. keeping track and analyzing of meaningful KPIs.

•    Manage specific project activities to optimize operational performance and meet strategic business needs while ensuring that assurance of supply is achieved.

Furthermore, you are focused on achieving goals, take initiative, can run several projects in parallel and can communicate fluently in English. More specifically, we ask the following of you:

•    Bachelor or Master level, preferably in Operations, Supply Chain or Business Management

•    Some relevant experience within supply chain (internship or 1-2 years’ work experience in a similar environment)

•    Excellent written and oral English communication skills are required

•    Experienced with ERP systems, preferably SAP

•    A team player with focus on improvement and strong drive for results

•    Excellent organizational skills are required

•    Proven strong problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

•    Must possess a good stress tolerance and ability to differentiate and prioritize

•    Ability to step up and take leadership when needed

•    Persistent and resilient when confronted with obstacles, and resolves issues in a timely manner
