At Amgen Breda medicines are labelled, assembled, stored and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people with 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

In this vital role, you will lead procurement operations at one of Amgen’s premier global manufacturing sites , acting as the key business partner between site leadership (Manufacturing, Facilities & Engineering, Supply Chain) and global sourcing teams.
You will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that support site needs, drive value, and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the sourcing liaison for all site needs—analyzing requirements, developing sourcing strategies, and driving negotiations and contracts.
- Collaborate closely with site Business Partners and Global Category Managers to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
- Lead capital project sourcing, including strategy development, supplier selection, and contract execution.
- Champion multi-year savings and value creation plans aligned with category and business strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships, supervise KPIs, and drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and innovation.
- Translate global procurement programs into site-level results and outcomes.
- Support sustainability, automation, and digital procurement initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks while ensuring regulatory compliance (GLP, GMP, ISO, OSHA).
- Establish stakeholder mapping and meeting cadence across engineering, supply chain, and finance.
- Assess supplier base and spend profile; develop and communicate a 12–18 month sourcing roadmap.

Skills & Experience:
- Deep knowledge of procurement best practices across manufacturing, capital, equipment, and technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (GLP, GMP, ISO, OSHA).
- Proven ability to drive value in a manufacturing procurement environment.
- Strong analytical skills to optimize procurement results and ensure compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with global, local, and virtual teams.
- High initiative, self-motivation, and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Team-oriented attitude with a focus on achieving shared goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 3 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
- High school diploma / GED and 14 years of relevant experience
