The Role
The Lab Shipments Associate plays a key role in enabling Genmab’s scientific teams to succeed. As part of the Lab Services team in the Netherlands, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end shipment of critical research materials, many of which are biological and require specialized handling and international transport. The Lab Services department consists of five sub-teams: Lab Equipment, Projects, Sustainability, Logistics, and Shipments. You’ll be working within the Shipping sub-team (2 FTE), closely collaborating with internal lab users and external couriers to ensure timely and compliant shipment of materials around the globe.
Please note that this is a temporary role for approximately 8 months. The role requires a minimum of 4 days per week , with flexibility for full-time.
Responsibilities

Coordinate the end-to-end shipment process for research materials, primarily biologicals

Package materials safely and accurately for national and international transport

Communicate with lab users to gather shipping requirements and timelines

Liaise with couriers and manage booking processes for temperature-controlled and specialized shipments

Generate shipping documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations

Create and process purchase orders in SAP

Maintain accurate records and collaborate closely with stakeholders across R&D

Provide input to improve and optimize standardized or predefined processes in your area of responsibility
Requirements
-
MBO or HBO level education. Please note that candidates with a PhD are considered overqualified for this hands-on role.

Background in life sciences, laboratories, biotechnology, pharma, or a related field preferred.

Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented attitude.

Comfortable with standardized administrative tasks requiring high accuracy

Experience with Excel, SAP, and Outlook.

Team player with a collaborative mindset and ability to multitask.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
