(Associate) Manufacturing Operator

Janssen Biologics B.V. in Leiden is looking for a (Associate) Manufacturing operator for the Bioprocessing Technology department. The work is carried out in shifts 16/7 or 24/7. A strong preference is for candidates who would like to work in the 24/7 shift.


Main tasks:

  • Operates as an established support individual contributor that executes tasks that are typically routine, with some deviation from standard practice. Follows routine administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Completes tasks to meet production targets of the Operations unit under general/minimal supervision, and follows administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
  • Maintains front-line knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory issues (e.g., audit findings, CAPA’s) to support the efficient managements of tasks in accordance with internal and external regulations and procedures.
  • Adheres to standard operating procedures to support tasks related to the processing of ingredients and/or pharmaceutical (new) products.
  • Helps monitor resources and escalates any concerns or issues to leaders to maximize successful business results.
  • Adhere to standardized work, follow activity flowcharts and keep record on the visual metrics.
  • Records gaps between target activity status and actual status and provides continuous improvement ideas based on these gaps.
  • Takes ownership of personal training and ensures that all required training is understood and completed on time.
  • Maintains knowledge of process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance safety, quality, reliability, cost, and scheduling.
  • Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson’s Leadership Imperatives and Credo.
  • Is required to understand and comply with the Code of Business Conduct, Company policies and laws that govern their activities.

CGMP, EHS&S, EN LEAN

The work is carried out under strict cGMP conditions. The operator ensures a safe, healthy and sustainable working environment. The execution of tasks, the organization of the work and the continuous improvement of efficiency, effectiveness, quality and cGMP and EHSS compliance are supported by Lean techniques and concepts. The operator has good knowledge of cGMP, EHSS and Lean, at the level appropriate for this position, is trained in the internal procedures and always follows these, as well as other internal standards. The Associate Manufacturing Operator identifies shortcomings and opportunities for improvement. He/she occasionally carries out improvement initiatives that are practical in nature and do not require support from other departments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • A relevant MBO-2 diploma with at least 18 months of relevant experience or a non-relevant MBO-2 diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Competences

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), EHSS and Lean
  • Nice to have:

Advantage is to have DELTA V, SAP, eLims and MES

Affinity/Knowledge of chromatography and/or cell cultures

In Process control knowledge, i.e. pH, HPLC, conductivity en OD280

  • The levels of computer proficiency are basic level for MS Office and entry level for business applications.
  • A level B1 in Dutch or English is required. English speaking, reading and writing skills, Dutch speaking, reading and writing skills are an advantage.
