We are looking for a motivated Animal Science or Veterinary Science master’s student! The Global Clinical Research department is an essential hub in our organization. This department is focused on;

Conducting clinical trials to assess the safety and efficacy of new veterinary products.

Ensuring that all research activities comply with regulatory requirements set by the EMA in order to generate data to support claims on vaccine labels.

Creating protocols for clinical studies that outline the objectives, methodology, statistical considerations, and data collection processes.

Data Management and Analysis: Collecting data from clinical trials and analyzing it to determine the outcome of the studies, which is crucial for making decisions about drug approval.

Working with veterinarians and veterinary organizations to conduct trials and gather relevant data.

Implementing processes to monitor the safety and efficacy of drugs during the clinical trials, including adverse event reporting.
The team consists of 8 employees, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in veterinary clinical studies. The team works closely with other departments within the company to achieve the stated goals.
Your internship assignment
As an intern, you will be responsible for taking on the challenge of performing a comprehensive meta-analysis on key parameters on a ‘master database’ that you will compile yourself. You will be constructing this database from the results of several existing clinical studies aimed at assessing the safety and efficacy of a pig vaccine.
Your responsibilities

You will play a crucial role in compiling and organizing data from various clinical studies in swine, creating a robust foundation for new analyses.

In cooperation with the Clinical Research colleagues develop a plan for analyzing the clinical data, ensuring a thorough and systematic approach.

Utilize your analytical and clinical skills to interpret the data set and draw meaningful insights.

Translate clinical findings into actionable recommendations that can lead to new insights regarding particular effects of this vaccination.

Providing a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion.
The described tasks form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.
What is required
• Master’s student in Animal science, Veterinary science, or similar.
• Familiarity with Data management, Study set-up, Veterinary medicine, Pig farming, Statistics.
• Excellent English and/or Dutch communication skills, at least English both written and verbal
• Available for a period of ~6 months (to be discussed) for 4 to 5 days per week. Occasional working from home can be discussed.
