Your internship assignment
As an intern you will engage in a vital project aimed at analyzing and improving the management of tailspend within our organization. Tailspend—typically defined as the portion of an organization’s procurement expenditures that is unmanaged or low-value—can represent a significant opportunity for cost savings and risk mitigation when managed effectively. Your work will focus on identifying strategies to control these expenses, enhancing visibility, and implementing best practices that can streamline our procurement processes.
Your responsibilities
1. Conduct focus groups and engage in external best practice research to identify gaps in current dashboard designs. Explore topics such as Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Tail Spend, Supplier Rationalization, and more.
2. Utilize your knowledge of dashboard design and data visualization principles to reimagine and redesign existing dashboards, addressing identified pain points and aligning them with the requirements of a best-in-class procurement organization.
3. Support an optimization initiative by deploying and analyzing surveys, conducting data analysis to identify areas of opportunity, and assisting in issue prioritization and roadmap development. This will provide you with hands-on experience in process improvement and project management within procurement operations.
4.Collaborate with a global project team, actively contributing to discussions, sharing insights, and learning from industry professionals.
5. Embrace a learning mindset, actively seeking opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in procurement systems and process improvement, while enjoying the journey and having fun along the way!
The above-mentioned responsibilities are an indication of what you will be doing after proper onboarding and initial learning and development. This provides you with the opportunity to learn and hereafter perform tasks independently. In consultation with your supervisor, you could take on additional tasks and responsibilities.
