We are offering a challenging and unique Biosafety position on a constantly growing site with room for further professionalization. Our site houses various facilities such as production and research facilities, including laboratories and state-of-the-art biotechnological production facilities.

Our production and R&D (Research & Development) facilities in Boxmeer and De Bilt are part of our global Animal Health network and develop, manufacture and package animal health products according to Good Manufacturing Practices standards (GMP). Boxmeer, with its more than 2000 employees, is the largest site in our Animal Health's global network. Our Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department (~21 employees) provides safety and environmental support for our animal health organization at the Boxmeer and De Bilt facilities to drive towards world class EHS performance. The department covers all the essential EHS expertise, with a team of now 7 individuals specializing in Biosafety & Industrial Hygiene (BS&IH).
Purpose of the role
Reporting into the Manager Biosafety & Industrial Hygiene and serving as her right hand, you play a crucial role in ensuring our site's compliance with regulatory and company requirements, while providing expert guidance and support in biosafety practices. In this position you will be responsible for leading and driving implementation of all site Biosafety programs, ensuring compliance with both local and country regulatory and global company requirements as well as providing Biosafety technical support for (capital) engineering projects and operations. This role requires close collaboration with predominantly (site) leaders in Manufacturing, Research & Development and Engineering.
Main tasks
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Biosafety program, responsible for designing and implementing bio risk management programs.
- Assess the site's bio risk program and establish a site bio risk profile to justify and acquire appropriate resources for effective biosafety program management.
- Establish and maintain excellent communication processes to ensure that site management and affected employees in R&D and Manufacturing understand workplace hazards, exposures, accompanying risks, and required control strategies.
- Provide technical support for engineering projects and technical modifications to ensure proper biosafety design and containment verification.
- Conduct biosafety self-assessments and audits to ensure compliance with local and country regulatory and global company requirements.
- Develop and contribute to an effective biosafety training program for both management and employees.
