About the role
Reporting to the Manager Biosafety & Industrial Hygiene at Our Animal Health location in the Netherlands, the Senior EHS Specialist/Biosafety Program Lead will play a vital role in ensuring the site's compliance with regulatory and company requirements, while providing expert guidance and support in biosafety and industrial hygiene practices.
Primary Responsibilities

Subject Matter Expert for the Biosafety and safety program of the site, including design and implement biosafety/biorisk management programs.

Assess site biorisk program and establish a site biorisk profile to justify and acquire appropriate resources for adequate biosafety program management.

Establish and maintain excellent communication processes to ensure site management, R&D and Production, and affected employees understand the workplace hazards, exposures, and accompanying risks, as well as the needed control strategies.

Provide technical support for new projects and modifications to ensure proper Biosafety design review and containment verification.

Conduct safety self-assessments & audits including Biosafety.

Develop and contribute to an effective Biosafety training program for both management and employees.
Your Profile

Bachelor's degree in life sciences as well as an expectation to have or obtain professional certification in industrial (occupational) hygiene or certification in Safety engineering (Hogere Veiligheidskunde).

5-10 years of experience managing a comprehensive biosafety program. This includes small and large-scale biosafety and small and large animal biosafety.

5-10 years of progressive EHS experience in pharmaceutical, bio-pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry with direct responsibility for EHS program development and management.

Ability to foster collaboration and consensus building among colleagues in an international workplace.

Excellent technical leadership and communication (oral & written) skills in Dutch and English.
