IT Infrastructure Engineer

Welcome to the team

Business Technology (IT & Automation) is responsible for managing and implementing all IT systems and shares responsibility for the deployment and management of automated equipment at Organon’s production site in Oss. This includes technologies ranging from PLCs to ERP systems. To ensure seamless operations and project execution, Business Technology collaborates closely with Integrated Production Teams (IPTs), Centers of Excellence (CoEs) at the Oss site, and the Global Business Technology teams that deliver global infrastructure and information system services. The IT Infrastructure Engineer reports to the Infrastructure Lead.

Purpose of the role

The IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a key role in the operation, planning, and execution of IT infrastructure services. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant global and local regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and standards. The scope of the infrastructure covers network systems and office workplace technologies such as laptops/desktops, printing, and telephony. The engineer works closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver, maintain, and continuously improve an IT infrastructure that effectively supports organizational needs.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide support for local business-driven projects involving IT infrastructure components.
  • Contribute to global IT infrastructure initiatives, including implementation and upgrade activities.
  • Assist in infrastructure refresh programs and lifecycle management projects.
  • Drive improvements in the overall customer experience by ensuring reliable and responsive IT services.
  • Collaborate with the onsite IT Workplace Support team to resolve local technical issues efficiently.
  • Deliver advanced support for complex IT infrastructure incidents and requests.
  • Work closely with global and local support teams to ensure compliance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Actively participate in global project teams focused on delivering regional or global IT infrastructure improvements.

Your profile

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Science Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in IT service or infrastructure roles
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management principles and practices.
  • Proven project management capabilities in an IT environment.
  • Expertise in service lifecycle management aligned with ITIL frameworks.
  • A customer-oriented mindset with a structured and proactive approach to IT support services.
  • Hands-on experience with ITIL or other recognized IT service frameworks, covering the full-service lifecycle (strategy, design, transition, operation, and improvement).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing IT infrastructure environments, including networking and system components.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Language proficiency in both Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Possession of relevant and up-to-date Microsoft and Cisco certifications.
