Job Description

Join a team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Client Services Project Manager I. Collaborate with other managers in a "pod" setup to meet client needs efficiently.

The Project Manager I works with other project managers in a small pod, the team being responsible for managing the storage and distribution aspects for clients. The pod shares responsibility for projects and ensures tasks are allocated and completed by an appropriately a member of the PMI team. This position is equal parts strategic and tactical in nature. This position is responsible for shepherding tasks to completion, issue resolution within internal procedures. The team works cross-functionally to ensure that client requirements and timelines are met.

The Project Manager I is responsible for ensuring that on time delivery (OTD) targets are met, the dispatch and shipping documentation is provided on time and right first time. PMI’s are responsible for coordinating with logistic service providers to ensure the delivery of shipping materials in a timely manner, the packaging of client requirements for dispatch and then the on-time dispatch.

The APM will work closely with the PMII and PMIII teams to ensure that needs are understood, updates are provided and to provide support with issue resolution.

This is a shift position covering 7 days a week working on a rotating shift pattern covering the period 7am to 7pm, shifts would not be longer than 10hrs and would stagger start and finish times to cover the working day with other team members on the pod. It is essential for the role to be able to work weekends and bank holidays and easily be able to commute to site. For the initial onboarding and training period then the expectation would to be on site Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide logistic management support for the storage and distribution of client material.
  • Prepare and submit documentation related to client activities and requests.
  • Manage the Green Light to Ship (GLTS) process in accordance with project timelines.
  • Assess client-supplied study specifications with Quality, Operations, and Procurement to craft Supply Chain solutions.
  • Ensure activities are completed in a timely manner to meet client requirements.
  • Use project planning tools such as Microsoft Project to monitor and communicate achievements and critical path activities.
  • Provide timely reports and other information to all collaborators.
  • Liaise with Operations to ensure study logistics are appropriately handled.
  • Manage stock levels for kit materials and packaging components.
  • Write and review departmental SOPs, Project Plans, and other documentation.
  • Ensure timely revenue recognition for assigned projects and verify final information for the Accounting Department.
  • Handle non-conformance issues and provide timely resolution reports.
  • Provide training to other members of the Fisher Bio Services team.
  • Participate in cross-functional business process improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, tailoring messages appropriately.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Understanding of project management tools and techniques.
  • Certification in Project Management from a recognized training institution (or working towards certification) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of GXP requirements in a pharma or CRO environment.
  • Strong customer leadership skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to analyze problems and define customer-centric solutions.
  • Resilience and the ability to support team members.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and numerical skills.
  • Scientific degree required, or other degree coupled with pharma/CRO equivalent work experience.
  • A great teammate.
