Business Application Consultant

The IT Application Engineer plays an important role in delivering and managing strategic business applications, reporting and interfaces.
This position will be the functional & technical subject matter expert (SME) for several applications. The Application Engineer maintains a good relationship with the key users; the suppliers; maintains the licenses and has a good understanding of the functional and technical challenges of the applications in scope. The applications and the appropriate documentation is kept up to date following the applicable change management process and reporting and audit activities are supported. Collaboration with the other Application Engineer(s) is crucial for the company as it ensures technical application experience is available during business hours for all sites.
As SME this role looks after 2 nd level support issues; changes, functional and technical process improvements, maintains documentation; compliance and audit reports.
Primary focus of this role will be our HRIS application, SharePoint solutions, but you will also be involved in other applications focused on Research, Quality and Clinical.
The Application Engineer works closely with the IT Support Engineers which perform triage and first level support on incidents including those on Application level. During projects and changes the Application Engineer will work closely with the Implementation Manager.
Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities)
- Configuration Management, Change Management and operational support for strategic IT, Business Applications at uniQure.
- Vendor management, oversee, manage timeliness and quality of the services provided to Business Applications
- IT compliance and regulations; Participates and provides artifacts and evidence for audits; ensures systems stay compliant with regulations
- Provide reporting to meet business needs
- Define, write and provide handover training on procedures and work instructions that enable IT Associates of the IT support team to provide support to the business community
- Be 2 nd level support for issues and questions regarding Business Applications
- Collaborates closely with Project Execution team to implement new enhancements, modules, and systems in the IT ecosystem
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business systems application management.
- Experience in building out SharePoint solutions. (Intranet, or DMS)
- Clear evidence of being able to effectively manage diverse computer systems and integrations
- Experience in an international organization
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective communicator
- Must be well organized and able to adapt to competing priorities
- Comfortable being hands-on and operational
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of SQL relational databases
- Project Management skills
- Experience working in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry
